Classification System: Grade Classification, Origins, and Entity Types

Genesis is not a world of order. It is a landfill of broken realms, forgotten dreams, and discarded souls. To survive here, understanding what you face is not optional—it is essential.

This guide outlines the formal system Divers and archivists use to identify, track, and categorize the anomalies, entities, and beings that populate Genesis.

Grade Classification – Threat Rating

Used to determine how dangerous or reality-warping a being or object is. Grade Classification apply to Entities, Anomalous Items, and Zone Hazards.

GradeDescription
Grade FHarmless. Oddities or curiosities. Possibly even helpful.
Grade DMild disruptions. May have passive effects, but still risky in the wrong hands.
Grade CKnown to cause injury or altered perception. Triggers under stress.
Grade BActive anomaly. Hostile or environment-warping. Needs group clearance.
Grade ADangerous enough to require full-team intervention. Often has a kill or break-on-sight protocol.
Grade SCatastrophic. Escaping or engaging without preparation is suicide. Some aren’t even fully real anymore.

Origin Type – Dimensional Source

Where the entity or object is believed to have come from.

DumpedDiscarded or ejected from another dimension.
CrackedFell through by accident (e.g. people, items, fragments).
SummonedBrought intentionally—via ritual, contract, or device.
Lost ArchiveFrom collapsed timelines or forgotten versions of Genesis.

Function Type – Behavioral Identity

How the entity behaves or what it does. This defines interaction style, abilities, and threat structure.

CovenantMakes deals, enforces contracts. (e.g., Broker Wolf)
EchoManifested emotion or memory. Often tragic or violent.
Zone-AnchoredBound to a specific location. Warps space around itself.
PossessorOccupies objects or bodies. May speak through them.
Item-BoundLives inside an item. Often mistaken for magical tools.
MimeticSpreads through knowledge, sight, or belief.
RemnantSurvivor of destruction, incomplete or unstable.
SwarmExists as many small pieces—collective behavior.
SyntheticArtificially made. Often misunderstood or mislabeled.

Optional Tag: Affiliation

Not all entities are wild. Some serve causes, factions, or philosophies. If applicable, entities may be tagged with affiliations.
