Genesis

Codex Classification: Dimensional System / Soul Rebirth Zone
Origin Type: Unknown
Affiliation: None (Framework Plane)

Overview

Genesis is not a place.
It is a dimensional landfill—a broken loop of reality where discarded souls, lost worlds, and cosmic mistakes are dumped. Some say it's a rebirth realm. Others call it the recycling pit of the multiverse.

When anomalies occur in other worlds—errors, paradoxes, or accidents—the fabric of reality sometimes doesn’t delete them. It exiles them here.

All who arrive are reset.

Regardless of power, species, or legacy, Genesis purges it all. Divine favor? Scrubbed. Tech enhancements? Gone. What’s left is instinct, raw emotion, and the flicker of potential.

Some souls, before being cast into the plane, pass through a strange place known only as the Library—a metaphysical archive where they may choose one item or ability. This choice defines the arc of their new existence. Some selections are powerful. Others, tragically useless.

Most remember nothing.

"Pick one item. Get a starter bag. Exit to begin your new life."

Structure of the Plane

Genesis is divided into Sectors—reality bubbles stitched together with logic barely holding.

Each Sector operates under its own rules:

  • Unique lighting and sky behavior
  • Unfamiliar biology or food sources
  • Distinct anomalies and hazards
  • Custom traversal mechanics (stairs, ladders, dream logic, portals)
  • Spatial instability—Sectors can grow, shrink, or collapse

Sectors are grouped loosely by depth:

LevelTraits
Upper LevelsSci-fi remnants, cybernetic faiths, abandoned AI infrastructures
Middle LevelsControlled zones, relic cities, Diver hubs, relatively safe architecture
Lower LevelsRaw, mythic terrain, chaotic magic, beasts born from fractured memory

Each Sector has entry and exit conditions—some logical, some arcane. The only consistent rule is: the deeper you go, the stranger it gets.

Safe Zones & Divers

Safe Zones exist within many Sectors—fragile oases of stability where entities known as Divers operate. These Divers explore unknown zones, chart anomalies, and trade across the unstable layers. In hostile or high-intensity Sectors, Safe Zones are critical to survival.

Core Laws of Genesis

  • Reset Protocol – Arrival strips all external power and memory. No divine favor, no tech inheritance, only fragments of self remain.
  • Library Gate – A select few pass through the Library and choose an item or ability before being born anew.
  • Cycle Fracture – Death has no guarantee. Some souls vanish, others awaken elsewhere. A few become part of Genesis.
  • Anomaly Drift – Movement between Sectors is possible, but the plane itself resists permanence. Maps decay. Routes change.

Associated Systems

  • Entity Classification – All anomalies and beings are categorized by Function, Origin, and Threat Grade.
  • Soul Binding – Under unknown metaphysical laws, souls may bond to objects, creatures, or concepts.
  • Fairy Navigation – In some Sectors, fairy entities act as living compasses. They can sense exits—if they survive long enough.

Theories & Rumors

  • Some believe Genesis is a cosmic testbed—a trial realm for refining souls before reincarnation.
  • Others believe it’s a universal error cache, absorbing what cannot be deleted.
  • A few claim to have seen the edge of Genesis—where the world stops rendering and memory begins to unravel.
  • Long-lived organizations within Genesis keep fragmented records that suggest this realm has existed for eons.
