Vestige Soul

Title: The New Soul Bound
Race: Dark Elf (Reborn)
Function Role: Soulbound Wanderer / Unraveled Protagonist
Affiliation: Unknown
Status: Alive
Original World: Lost

Profile

They died carrying someone else’s body—and awoke alone in Genesis.

Vestige Soul’s last memory is fractured: a snowy wasteland, a ruined hallway, and a godlike figure whose voice broke reality into white. Whatever world they came from is gone. Whatever they were is lost. Now, they are a soul without a past, thrown into a realm that erases power and identity alike.

Genesis gave them only one rule:
“Pick one item. Get a starter bag. Begin your new life.”

Vestige chose the book—black and red, whispering like an old friend behind a locked door. Something in them recognized it. Something in it called back.

They’ve been walking ever since.

“Even if everything else was erased… someone has to remember.”

Appearance

Vestige appears as a reborn dark elf—sleek, cautious, and weathered by silence. Their eyes drift between dreamlike disconnection and sudden clarity, as if chasing something just out of reach.

Originally clad in a distorted maid’s outfit from Genesis’s default spawn inventory, their appearance now reflects a scavenged survivor: shadow-colored layers, mismatched gear, subtle runes—and always the book, chained at the hip.

Some who look too long swear the book blinks.

Personality

Wary. Focused. Unfolding.

Vestige does not speak often. Their silence is not shyness—it’s calibration. They watch, map, and weigh every word before speaking. Their trust is rare. Their loyalty, slower.

Memories come in fragments. Faces flash in dreams. The voice in the book haunts them with affection and cryptic warnings. Vestige does not seek revenge. They seek reconnection—to who they were, what they lost, and why this second life exists at all.

Abilities

  • Soulmark Binding
Vestige’s chosen book is alive—or bound to something that is. It reacts to danger, emotion, and near-death triggers. It may contain a sealed entity or be a fragment of their prior self. It’s not clear if Vestige controls it—or if it chose them.
  • Memory Drift (Passive)
Occasionally recalls flashes of a previous life—sometimes tactical, sometimes emotional. These moments are unreliable, but often resonate with zones, objects, or certain anomalies.
  • Narrative Anchor
Vestige’s presence seems to destabilize nearby story-consistent anomalies, especially those reliant on repeated cycles or memory loops. Some Broker Wolves have taken note.

Associated Notes

  • The entity within the book may be a lost soul, an ancient kitsune, or something worse—its personality shifts between cryptic guidance and protective violence
  • Broker Wolves have shown polite but suspicious interest in Vestige
  • Vestige’s existence may be displacing another being, but details remain buried
