Wildlia

Origin Type: Cracked / Native Hybrid
Known Regions: Safe zones, wilderness border towns, hybrid enclaves
Affiliation: Varies by spirit animal, clan, or adopted community

Overview

Wildlia are spirit-touched humanoids, outwardly indistinguishable from humans—until you notice the expressive animal ears and matching tails. Each Wildlia’s traits reflect a spirit animal, inherited through bloodlines and deeply tied to their identity, senses, and sometimes fate.

More adaptable than many races in Genesis, Wildlia are known for their loyalty, their diplomatic bridges with other species, and their emotional expressiveness—traits that make them welcome in most safe zones, even if not always trusted.

"Our tails wag when yours would tremble. That doesn’t mean we don’t feel fear. It just means we face it differently."

Physical Traits

  • Appear human at first glance, but with animal-like ears and tails
  • Animal traits can be canine, feline, vulpine, rodent, avian, reptilian, or rarer spirits
  • Ears and tails are highly expressive and vary in shape, size, and movement
  • Their spirit traits are passed through family lines but may skip or twist based on emotional trauma or Genesis corruption

Abilities

  • Heightened Senses – Wildlia inherit animalistic sensory traits based on their spirit animal
  • Low-Light Vision – Most Wildlia can see twice as far in dim conditions
  • Spirit Animal Communication – Can understand and commune with animals of their spirit lineage
  • Spirit Animal Influence – Gains benefits and quirks tied to their spirit (e.g., climbing, stealth, territorial instinct, cold sensitivity)

Society and Role

Wildlia societies mirror human towns but often reflect spirit-guided professions and behaviors. While they operate under varied systems of government, most communities are kinship-based rather than bloodline-bound.

Examples:

  • Wolf or Dog Wildlia gravitate toward military, law enforcement, or guardianship roles
  • Cat spirits often become artisans, scouts, or traders
  • Falcon or Owl spirits appear frequently among scholars, lookouts, or oracles

Though seen as "soft" by some combat-first factions, Wildlia are highly valued as diplomats, scouts, and survivalists—especially in shifting terrain.

Culture

Wildlia culture is defined by community, adaptability, and spiritual diversity. Festivals often blend animal rites with human customs, celebrating both harmony and individuality. Their clothing incorporates feathers, bones, and natural patterns that echo their ancestral ties.

Art and music tend to reflect motion, emotion, and environmental mimicry—tracing roots back to pre-Genesis mythologies now partially forgotten.

Challenges and Prejudice

Wildlia are often caught between worlds. Beastkin factions—seeing themselves as “purer”—view Wildlia as tainted hybrids, leading to:

  • Restricted access to ancient beast lands
  • Being barred from certain trade routes
  • Occasional scapegoating for Rift-related anomalies

Yet their resilience has made them one of the most socially flexible races in Genesis. Many have carved out roles as peacekeepers or cultural interpreters—because no one understands crossing worlds better than those born between them.
