Yasu

Title: The Ricochet Fluke — “The Bullet That Shouldn’t Have Hit”
Race: Human (Chrono-Folded)
Function Role: Reactive Gunner / Anomaly-Linked Wanderer
Affiliation: Independent (Duo with Ira)
Status: Free Agent / Passive Anomaly

Profile

Yasu didn’t sign up for anything. He was just unlucky enough to be standing in the wrong place with the wrong gun during the wrong kind of collapse.

He failed his Diver entrance exam with an “8.” Not 80. Not 18. Just 8. And he still made it farther than most graduates.

Now, Yasu roams the edges of ruined safe zones and distorted sectors, ducking fights when he can and surviving the ones he can’t. His guns behave like they have a mind of their own—firing once, and then again later, after they’ve forgotten they weren’t supposed to.

He tries not to think too hard about how bullets rebound from the ground and strike enemies he never saw. He certainly doesn’t talk about the vampire that follows him around.

“I don’t miss. The world just hasn’t finished processing the hit yet.”

Appearance

Worn pilot jacket with mismatched armor plates and a cracked Diver patch
Slung suitcase filled with repurposed guns, reloading drones, and snacks
Permanent bedhead energy; moves like someone who keeps getting lucky by accident
Eyes that flicker with mild confusion and unexpected clarity mid-combat

Personality

Laid-back. Unlucky. Endlessly resilient.

Yasu isn’t trying to be a hero, and he’s definitely not trying to be anyone’s chosen one. He just doesn’t like seeing people get hurt—especially people who’ve decided he’s theirs.

He hums when nervous, whistles when thinking, and talks to his guns like they’re pets. Doesn’t trust systems. Doesn’t trust factions. Mostly just wants to stay alive long enough to figure out what went wrong—and why Ira won’t leave him alone.

Abilities

Ricochet Fate
Yasu’s bullets sometimes refire—automatically targeting enemies a few seconds after being fired. It’s not magic. It’s something else. Something reality doesn’t want to explain.

Suitcase Arsenal
Carries a drone-assisted weapons case filled with self-loading constructs. It fights with him. Or sometimes… instead of him.

Close Quarters Hell
In tight spaces, his guns become almost preternaturally accurate. It’s like walls and corners make his bullets smarter.

Unlucky, But Alive
He survives the kind of situations most people get erased in. Whether it’s dumb luck or subconscious anomaly bending reality, he’s still standing.

Related Notes

  • Yasu has no formal training, yet his marksmanship rivals advanced Diver squads
  • His weapons occasionally trigger before he does—suggesting possible subconscious precognition or environmental imprinting
  • Frequently seen traveling with Ira, a rogue blood-anomaly believed to be Red Spindle origin. No known control protocol between them, yet she obeys no one else
  • Has survived three confirmed dead-zones unassisted. No known cause for survival
