Overview
Daily Fate Press is the large, movable printing-press Anomaly at the center of the Office of Infinite Horizon. It produces newspapers containing glimpses of possible futures.
Knowledge of the press and the source of the Office's predictions is restricted to members of the organization. Its mobility does not make its whereabouts public.
The Daily Editions
At the start of each day, Daily Fate Press prints multiple different newspapers. Each presents its own biased opinions, shaped by the style of publication it produces.
The Office therefore receives several perspectives rather than one neutral account. Understanding an edition requires attention to its framing, priorities, and opinions as well as the events it describes.
Changing Predictions
Previous editions can become inaccurate. An older newspaper remains a record of what the press printed, but cannot automatically be treated as a dependable description of what will happen.
The Office stores every previous newspaper in its archive. Those records preserve the history of its forecasts alongside the current editions its members must interpret.
The Extinction Future
One predicted future shows every Node being wiped out. Postremo Limine can begin replacing Nodes after their number reaches zero, but their inhabitants cannot survive that interruption. At least one Node must remain for life to continue.
Preventing that outcome gives the Office its central objective. Predictions inform its investigations and interventions, while the press itself remains an internal secret.
Current Understanding
Daily Fate Press is confirmed as an Anomaly rather than ordinary printing technology. Its creator, the mechanism behind its foresight, and the limits of the futures it can report remain unknown.
