Overview
Nysa Moonpetal is a Papilio administrator within the Eternal Order. Gentle, diligent, and meticulous, she helps keep the organization's internal operations coordinated.
Her responsibilities also extend to preservation itself. Nysa is trained to examine souls for corruption, contributing to the checks that determine whether a returning member can proceed to rebirth or must remain stored in their Ethereal Coin.
Background
Nysa grew up among the Papilio of Shadowbloom Forest, surrounded by her people's communal and spiritual traditions. Her aptitude for organization led her toward administrative work within the Eternal Order.
She was drawn to its determination to shape the future rather than accept the fate imposed upon its members. Within Postremo Limine, that cause is expressed through the Order's effort to preserve continuing souls and overcome the corruption associated with repeated rebirth.
Appearance
Nysa stands barely two feet tall, with delicate, moth-like features and soft wings patterned with iridescent scales. She has a slender body, antennae, and dexterous hands with three fingers each.
Her small stature is accompanied by keen senses and graceful movement. She navigates the citadel's busy corridors with the attentiveness she brings to her work.
Administrative Work
Nysa supports the coordination of the Eternal Order's activities. She approaches assignments, records, and logistical details with care, helping colleagues maintain the practical arrangements on which operations depend.
Her organizational skill is paired with a strong sense of responsibility. She values accuracy and consistency, and brings quiet confidence to duties that can otherwise disappear beneath the urgency of field missions and research.
Examining Souls for Corruption
The Eternal Order's rebirth system returns a member's continuing soul through their Ethereal Coin when a transfer succeeds. Before rebirth, the soul must be examined for corruption. Nysa is trained to carry out this assessment.
If a soul passes the check, its Coin can be placed in the machine that returns the person to their old body. If it fails, the Coin is placed in storage. Stored souls are not conscious.
Nysa's examination concerns the soul's condition and its suitability for the next stage of the process. The Order's current system does not prevent corruption, and examining a soul does not cure it. Its broader work toward a local Soul Cycle remains incomplete.
Personality and Working Relationships
Nysa is gentle and diplomatic, with a careful manner and unwavering dedication to her responsibilities. She values cooperation and mutual respect among colleagues from different backgrounds.
Her quiet confidence makes her more than a reassuring presence. Administrative precision and the examination of returning souls both demand attention, and she takes those obligations seriously.
Place within the Order
Nysa connects the everyday organization of the Eternal Order with its preservation process. Her work includes both the coordination that supports its members and the examination of souls returned to its care.
The faction seeks to make continued rebirth possible for everyone. Nysa serves within the limited system it currently possesses, where successful transfer and an acceptable corruption level remain necessary for a return to life.
